One of the leading suppliers of liquid and powdered coil coatings, Axalta Coating Systems was excited to introduce next generation coil spring coats. Alesta Spring Black, Axalta’s new hybrid epoxy powdered coating offers mechanical resistance, ultra superior resistance to corrosion and flexibility. This new coating technology introduced by Axalta will provide huge opportunity to the company to cater to the market’s continuously growing performance needs. The company thereby tends to associate this new development with the existing coil spring clientele. Alesta Spring Black is a complete package providing enhanced impact, stone chip and corrosion resistance which allows the coil suspension system of the vehicle to instantly and conveniently adapt to the varying conditions of the road and at the same time supporting the weight of the automobile. This new innovative technology assists the coil suspension system of the vehicle to perform better without compromising the coating integrity and is designed as a one layer system. Also, excellent appearance is visible due to the high build in the thickness of the coating. Another feature of the new Alesta Spring Black is that it has little curing temperature, about 150 degrees Celsius. This factor is essential as it reduces the energy cost as there is very less thermal stress on the spring. Alesta Spring Black covers larger surface area owing to higher transfer efficiency thereby saving the powder consumption up to 20 percent per square meter.
To give an overview of the recent takeovers, Axalta Coating Systems has completed acquisition of Spencer Coatings Group and Valspar’s North American Industrial wood coatings business. High performance industrial coatings is the main product of Spencer Coatings Group, a leading manufacturer of industrial coatings, which is used for heavy duty equipment, oil and gas coatings segments, general industrial coating segments as well as glass coating segments. The Spencer’s industrial product line will collaborate with Axalta’s product portfolio of high performance coatings for all of its industrial clients. The acquisition of Spencer Coatings Group will enable Axalta to serve clients present in the United Kingdom and also expand to new regions.
Also, Axalta Coating Systems acquired Valspar’s North American Industrial wood coatings business, a leading coatings provider especially for distributors involved in industrial woods market and OEMs. The business’s strong and versatile brands such as UltraguardTM, Zenith, Color Choice and LifeshieldTM will bond with performance coatings product portfolio and services of Axalta.
